- ChagHebrew for "feast" or "festival," specifically one involving pilgrimage. The three pilgrimage feasts — Passover/Unleavened Bread, Shavuot, and Sukkot — are called chagim, times when Israelite men were commanded to appear before Yahweh. (Exodus 23:14-17)
- Chag HaMatzotHebrew for "Feast of Unleavened Bread." A seven-day feast beginning the day after Passover, during which no leavened bread is eaten. Leaven symbolizes sin; the feast pictures the believer's call to live a holy, unleavened life. (Exodus 12:15-20; Leviticus 23:6-8)
- ChesedHebrew for "lovingkindness," "steadfast love," or "covenant loyalty." The loyal, committed love Yahweh shows His covenant people — not based on their worthiness but on His character and promise. One of the most important words in the Tanakh. (Exodus 34:6)
- CovenantThe word "covenant" means "business deal," or "contract," and implies a promise to deliver one end of the contract if the other end is met. But a covenant is a bilateral agreement; it takes the participation of both parties and they are bound only by the terms of the covenant or agreement.
